with Gene Hoglan on drums. The band
plans to tour a bit, but it's said this project will not interfere with
Gene continuing on his work with Strapping Young
Lad.
-
(08.31) Apparently Fear Factory has
reformed, except without Dino on guitars. Christian (the bass player) will
take over the guitar duties, and they reportedly have sent a 3 song demo
to RoadRunner Records, no word on whether the label will release a proposed
new Fear Factory album with the modified lineup. As we all know, Burton
the vocalist left the band earlier this year, and the rest of the band
broke up right after. Since then, there's been a ton of news stories about
how the three members of the band had a lot of issues with Dino, so I suppose
it's not surprising they got back together without him. Dino has moved
on to other projects.

for an interview with Meshuggah.
-
(08.08) Recording of Malevolent Creation's
new album "The Will To Kill" has been completed (11 tracks), but Canadian
Producer Jean Francois Dagenais was denied access into the United States
twice due to visa complications and delayed the recording a bit, and hence
6 additional track's were not recorded. Those will be recorded later, I
assume for an EP or something. The album will start mixing Aug 25th, and
should be released October/November.
-
(08.08) Go here
for a copy of Fear Factory's last song
ever recorded, although keep in mind this was recorded by each band member
separately and then mixed together, so it's not exactly a "band" effort.
-
(08.08) Sorry for the lack of updates, I just moved from Los Angeles to
San Francisco, so I've been kinda busy. But my net connection is back up,
so here's the news once again.

Jean Francois Dagenais (guitarist/producer for Kataklysm) at Greenhouse
FX Studios in Tampa Florida.
June 2002

just a single guy doing everything, and are preparing material for a new
2nd album. The band is still looking for a bassplayer however, for more

just broke up as well. Dave Mustaine has done permanent injury to his arm,
making it impossible for him to play guitar. So he's disbanded the group,
and hopes through physiotherapy to one day play the guitar again.
-
(04.06) Well, seems a little more official now, Broken
Hope has broken up. An interesting email from founding member
Jeremy Wagner can be found here,
basically he says the group just grew apart over the past half year, each
doing their own thing. They got a good number of songs together for a new
album, now those songs will be used in a new project Jeremy and vocalist
Scott Creekmore are going to do on their own. More info on that when it
materializes. In a related note, this is the third band that's been laid
to rest in the past month, I don't know quite what's going on, but I hope
this time next year we still have some of the old bands around to report
on.

(03.31) Some sort of odd news about Broken Hope.
I'd try and explain it, but it's probably best to let them tell you in
their own words, this is taken from the front of their website.
With only the vocal tracking and mixing left for Broken Hope's next
release Flesh Mechanic, a decision has been made to not release it as a
"Broken Hope recording". It has turned into something new. We have decided
to put Broken Hope on extended hold for now . During the recording of Flesh
Mechanic a couple of the guys lost interest in the process for various
non-music related reasons. Therefore the project took new meaning and direction
by the others that continued the recording. Everyone has advanced at different
levels and we have all grown in different directions musically and non-musically.
All of this led to difficulties in completing the record as the unit that
started it. The material will instead be released under a different name
(soon to be announced) by the members that completed and contributed material.
It will be a seperate entity from Broken Hope entirely and will definitely
have different things to offer. This is certainly not a bad thing by any
means. AND YES, IT IS DEATH METAL!! WE DID NOT SELL OUT ON THE NEW SHIT!!
Send an email to Brian or Sean if you have any further questions regarding
the new material and who will be involved or if you just want to know what
the guys are going to be up to. Brian will be in Europe until mid April
so if you want a speedy response go to Sean for the info. More news will
follow on Broken Hope. Thanks again to all who supported Broken Hope in
the past and our apologies to anyone we let down by not completing this
album as Broken Hope.
