1) DEVIN
TOWNSEND: Empath
Devin is just the most crazy musician, he makes another epic
masterpiece of heaviness, catchiness and complexity.
|
|
2) HOUR
OF PENANCE: Misotheism
Wasn't expecting much from this release, but they managed to make it
all gel and created probably the best album the band has ever produced.
|
|
3) CREEPING
DEATH: Wretched Illusions
My love of old Obituary brings this album to the forefront of the list,
great retro style album.
|
|
4) DEVOURMENT:
Obscene Majesty
Just the most bludgeoning album I may have ever heard, your ears will
bleed, and your head will save in.
|
|
5) VISCERAL
DISGORGE: Slithering Evisceration
While nothing terribly new, this is just really, really well made
technical death metal Solid release.
|
|
6) VOYAGER: Colours
In The Sun
The masters of combining metal and pop, really catchy songs and
excellent musicianship.
|
|
7) DESPISED
ICON: Pugatory
The second release from the band after their hiatus, the songs on this
one are all top notch, and shows they still have tons to offer.
|
|
8) KADINJA:
Super 90'
Not as strong as their last album, but the last instrumental song is
still my most played song of 2019 in itunes.
|
|
9) INFANT
ANNIHILATOR: The Battle Of Yaldabaoth
Absolutely ridiculous speed, this album is just brutal fun, it'll keep
your head shaking from disbelief. |
|
10) NILE: Vile
Nilotic Rites
Rounding out the top 10 is the new Nile, I didn't find
the songs on this one to be as catchy, but even a decent Nile album is
still far better than most everything out there.
