1) HIDEOUS
DIVINITY: Adveniens
Just insane on a speed, power, brutality and catchiness level, the band
took all the best elements of modern death metal and slapped me in the
face with them. Bravo!

|
2) ANTROPOFAGUS:
M.O.R.T.E.
Originally I didn't give this release a great review, but after
multiple listens, I started to get the album more and more, and in the
end, while I do miss some of elements of this album's predecessor,
M.O.R.T.E. has great riffs and a spectacular performance.

3) BROKEN
HOPE: Mutilated And Assimilated
Their comeback album was decent, but this follow-up is back at full
force, all the new musicians are now firmly entrenched in the classic
Broken Hope style.
|
|
4) IMMOLATION:
Atonement
The song writing went up a notch on this release, the band does
consistent good work, but this brought it to a new level.
|
|
5) THE
FACELESS: In Becoming A Ghost
Despite all the personal drama in this "band", the album itself is a
solid piece of both technical and progressive death metal.
|
|
6) MORTA SKULD: Wounds
Deeper Than Time
Solid comeback for the legendary band, just great riffs with a solid
performance. Heavy as fuck.
|
|
7) MORBID
ANGEL: Kingdoms Disdained
The band is back after a huge misstep, Kingdoms isn't their most
classic album, but is super solid and will certainly improve with age. |
|
8) DYING
FETUS: Wrong One To Fuck With
Another solid release from Dying Fetus, always a pleasure to hear more
music from the band.
|
|
9) ORIGIN:
Unparalleled Universe
Far better than their last album, and all the elements we love in the
speediest of death metal. |
|
10) PRONG: Zero
Days
Back to the speed, power and catchiness that the band
is known for. |
