1) Fear Factory: Archetype
One of my favorite bands is back, and this time they don't disappoint like with "Digimortal". Archetype is just the right combination of catchy songs, brutally robotic riffs and superfast doublebass.
2) Nasum: Shift
Just the finest grindcore you're ever going to hear, and we all pray that Mieszko is ok so that this album does not become his last.
3) Cannibal Corpse: The Wretched Spawn
Great, great songs elevate this newest Cannibal Corpse album to a high spot on my list. Their albums are always good, but this one is definitely the best in recent years.
4) Slipknot: Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)
While not as good as Iowa, this album still manages to have a lot of brutally angry songs that keep it reappearing in my cd player.
5) Prong: Scorpio Rising
A triumphant return if I've ever seen one, some really catchy songs make this probably one of the best albums the band's ever done.
6) The Amenta: Occasus
These newcomers blend so many styles into something that's brutal, spooky and disturbing. Definitely a band to watch out for.
7) Shadows Fall: The War Within
I'm glad I finally got introduced to this band, proves thrash is certainly not dead, it just needs to be done right.
8) Suffocation: Souls To Deny
A somewhat odd production brings this cd down a few notches, not to mention having to live up to a catalogue of some of the best death metal albums of all time. But this album is still hard hitting and plenty brutal.
9) Textures: Polars
Combining the best elements from Strapping to Meshuggah, can't wait for their next album.
10) Machine Head: Through The Ashes Of Empires
The band proved they could be angry again, and produced probably their best album since their debut.

Nightmares Made Flesh
Dead To The World
Devolved: Calculated
