WHAT WERE MY FAVORITE ALBUMS OF 1998?

1) FEAR FACTORY: Obsolete
Just a well written and brutal techno-metal masterpiece from beginning to end.
2) MESHUGGAH: Chaosphere
It came in late in the game, but Meshuggah managed to redefine themselves without leaving their trademark style. Impressive.
3) SUFFOCATION: Despise The Sun
The last (possibly) EP from the legendary band. Five tracks of superfast double kicks, impressive production and songwriting. A must have.
4) SINISTER: Aggressive Measures
This album is suffering from bad distribution, but once you get your hands on it, this tight, well written album will win you over too.
5) CRYPTOPSY: Whisper Supremacy
Just the most intense death metal album ever done. Your eyes will bleed.
6) MORBID ANGEL: Formulas Fatal To The Flesh
Suffering from horrible production, Trey still manages to come up with a well written album with many memorable songs.
7) DEATH: The Sound of Perseverance
Chuck releases another rock solid album that showcases everything that makes Death the original death metal act.
8) NILE: Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka
Newcomers Nile somehow combine traditional egyptian music with brutal death to make this the most original album of the year. It sounds great too!
9) NAPALM DEATH: Words From The Exit Wound
More high quality songwriting and production from these old veterans. They just won't stop.
10) SLAYER: Diabolus In Musica
With this their last album, Slayer has proved you can have a 15 year career, get lots of success without bending to commercial pressure, and can still play like demons, no compromise. Slayer are gods!
